Beeswax is a natural wax produced by honeybees, secreted from glands on their abdomen to build honeycombs. It has a mild honey-like scent, a melting point of 62–64°C (144–147°F), and ranges in color from white to yellow or brown. Beeswax is widely used in cosmetics (like lip balms and lotions), candles (for a clean, slow burn), food coatings (such as cheese wax), wood polish, and even medical salves due to its emollient and anti-inflammatory properties. It is insoluble in water but mixes well with oils, making it versatile for DIY projects and industrial applications.
